Ok - Java's been using the FreshFlow for a year now...That thing is a pain-
in-the-butt to clean. Not only you have to take all the parts out to get a
thorough cleaning but it's also VERY hard to get all the spots. I use a
toothbrush, a sponge and Q-tips to clean and I still couldn't get to all the
curve and corners. Bad design (I don't use dishwasher because it might melt
the plastic or soap might get stuck between corners....so I clean by hand)
This morning as I was cleaning the fountain, I dropped the little motor by
mistakes. I'M GLAD...Why?? Because there were THICK brown slimey-gooey
stuffs fell out onto the floor. As it turns out, all the dirts/salivia are
trapped INSIDE the little motor where you just cannot get to it. (Keep in
mind - I thorough clean the fountain every few days and we only have 1 cat.)
I NEED SUGGESTION - I did some research it seems like Pioneer Pet Stainless
Steel Fountain Raindrop Design is the easiest to clean BUT I want some
feedback...Anyone here use this product? If not, what do you recommend?
I want something that is:
1) Easy to clean
2) Does not encourage bacteria / mold / germ to grow
3) Will NOT tip over (Java WILL play with his water bowl...) so it has to be
heavy
4) Durable (Ceramic will not work)
I saw other fountains such as Drinkwell, Drinkwell Platinum, Drinkwell 360,
Cat Mate...etc. They all seem to have a bacteria/mold growing and hard to
clean issue...

I have this stainless steel water fountain. It's a cinch
to clean. However, cats can definitely move it, even
when filled with water. So when this fountain is out
(I alternate between different ones), I have to place it
inside a thick glass baking pan so that the spilled water
doesn't get to the floor.
The filter for this fountain is quite expensive, at about
$10 each. So after the one that came with the fountain
met with its destiny, I never replaced it. The cats are
just fine with the non-filtered water.
The water pump needs to be cleaned quite often. I didn't
know it could be taken apart until I took it to a shop to
get a replacement after it stopped working. The shop owner
disassembled it, rinsed it with water, and it was like new
again. From then on, each time I clean the fountain, I rinse
the water pump. No sweat.
The one 'complaint' I have with this fountain is its noise.
It can be very quiet if you place the pump just the right
way. But any slight change of position can make it noisy.
I guess I have a low tolerance to noise. The cats don't
seem to care though.
One other thing, stainless steel can look dirty with water
stains all over it. And when there is water, and cats
playing with water, there are always water stains. So don't
expect your water fountain look like those spotless ones
on the net.

The original prototype Spotmatic did have a spotmeter CdS cell. But Asahi
decided, wisely, that a center weighted meter would give better photos
across the broad spectrum of scenes and that spotmeters were difficult for
beginners to use (not everyone is a Ansel Adam's Zone freak).

Hi!! Since you didn't provide a link, I can't really tell which fountain you
're referring to, however, I bought the Pioneer Water Fountain in stainless
steel. I hope Java will like it.
From the review, it looks like it's the easiest to clean and the filter is
easy to replace. I bought the larger size for 2 reasons:
1) This fountain doesn't have a reservoir and I want to make sure Java will
have enough water in case we're away for the weekend.
2) The small size is waaay smaller BUT it's the price is very similar to the
larger size.
I'll post a photo below...if anyone is interested, I can post a review after
Java uses it >^-^<

're referring to, however, I bought the Pioneer Water Fountain in stainless
steel. I hope Java will like it.

have enough water in case we're away for the weekend.
2) The small size is waaay smaller BUT it's the price is very similar to the
larger size.

如果猫对玩水兴趣比喝水大怎么办？
我家只是那种水盆上方倒置的水瓶，因为猫发现把水拨出去新水流下来就会咕嘟咕嘟响

might be turned off by the shiny/cold texture stainless steel has? The
ceramic is actually pretty durable...I had the fountain for more than a year
and it still looks just like new.

钍232 到 镭228 是 alpha
镭228 往后 还有一大串 alpha+beta衰变呢，一直到铅。
beta还是能传播一些距离的。

这个视频显示辐射是10uSv/hr＝1mrem/hr，而且这是裸奔的时候的读数。普通群众一般
限制在2mrem/hr，感觉应该在限制之内。除非，这个仪器没有对放射的种类进行转换，
如果那样的话，象Th232这样发射的alpha粒子，得乘以20。这样就超标了（当然，你得
把镜头裸着贴肉放）。

我都扔掉了，我拿实验室的仪器测过，takumar 50 1.4 1.8都是很强大的放射源，在我
的盖格探测器下面就是一场粒子风暴，指针直接飚出量程，赶紧打到10X档，仍然是不
可当，指针重重打在上限，打到100X档位，稳定在中间读数300左右，很恐怖，比我们
做实验用的同位素都还厉害。
Bate其实无妨，因为穿透力不强，可是gamma就很恐怖了，而且探测不到。
我现在全部都处理掉了。

可当，指针重重打在上限，打到100X档位，稳定在中间读数300左右，很恐怖，比我们
