【在 a********a 的大作中提到】 : 长在脸上doesn't mean 脸会歪 - I had it before, on my face. So if your mom's : face is not paralyzed yet, chances are it will not be. : Bless!
I think this condition is over-treated in China. I was told by U.S. doctor to rest at home, take oral anti-viral medication for the first few days and let the virus run its course - and I turned out to be fine. However, my mom , who were in China and got it on the back, was hospitalized for 3 weeks, and was given lots of antibiotic and nutrition supplements through IV injection. They should be unnecessary and are just tricks for hospital to collect revenue. If the rash goes through eye area, then your mom needs to be seen by an eye doctor to make sure that the nerve on the eyes are not affected. Other complication to watch might be prolonged painfulness. For both my mom and myself, it took months or years for the pain to completely go away. But it eventually heals for most people.
