版上读了不少文章说RL或PL中不能提Young Scientist或Young Investigator Award之
类的。
但根据USCIS的Memorandum第14页（以及Kazarian Guide第11页）所说 "A beneficiary
may be very young in his or her career and still be able to show sustained
acclaim."，申请人可以Young只要证据充分能说明符合条件就可以了啊？
比如，NSF的Early Career Award或类似的Young Investigator Award不能claim么？在
conference和senior professor一起作section co-chair，该怎么吹？（觉得还是说这
么说更好吧？'作为年青学者能和资深教授一起作section cochair，足见比peer优秀')
所以想请教版上的传言是有其它法理依据还只是口口相传的经验之谈？

Nothing is absolute. In my case, I once received the young research
fellowship for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting as an American
representative. I would be a fool not to mention that.

It is so mentioned because of lessons learned from numerous RFEs, which pose
great challenge on the scope of the award using name "young" by stating it
covers only small group (young or fresh) of the community in the field and
thus do not necessarily prove the extraordinary ability and contribution of
the petitioner.
Haha, after months of painful RL writing, my tone has been adopted to the
special tone of speaking.

请问能说说您这个会的入选条件么？我听说一般是20几名NL和500多名young
researchers，需要提名还是可以直接申请？谢谢

有没有这样一个可能：这些被RFE的案例中，大多可能是所claim的奖项本身含金量或权
威性不够，并不仅仅是因为young这个字眼本身？
从人口分布上来想：整个科学界到底是young scientists多还是senior scientists多
？估计还是前者人数众多吧，所以不能算small group. 能得奖的难度应该更大才对。

in my year, globally 20,000+ researchers applied. 296 got in. US had 20+
people. It's a multi-stage selection process. Your institute first
nominates you to the your country central agency. In the US, it's usually
the NSF. NSF then selects the most promising candidates and nominate them to
the conference committee. The committee makes final decisions on who get in
. The US team has almost always been the largest team. Most countries have
only one representative. It was a fun experience.
I actually don't want to claim rewards, since I need only two criteria for
eb1b. But my attorney insists claiming as many as possible. Who knows what
will happen.

说得对，所以有些人总结的什么to do or NOT to do对新手往往有误导之嫌。
另外，1b中对internationally recognized的要求应该比top scientists相对更重要一
些。
所以只要能证明international recognition，young不young关系应该不大。
