领证已经是两年多前的事情了，一直中美天各一方，彼此的磨合时间太短暂。
头脑发热在国内办婚礼。这一天的痛苦让人难忘。
他人很单纯。但是，对我出奇的抠门，结婚没有买戒指，买个项链还是去了三次商场，
前两次都吵翻，第三次才买了一条4000人民币的项链。他是个穷人，我也不虚荣，我在
乎的不是钱，是他有没有这样的心意。话说我在美国的工资绝大多数都存他那儿了。结
婚这么一个重要的时候，抠门得让人心寒。
女同学f,曾经的舍友，是介绍人，千里迢迢不请自来。他对外人，能毫不犹豫的说给报
销往返机票。f虽是旧舍友兼介绍人，但是大学四年我了解她的为人和对男生的态度，
心里没把她当朋友，能避则避之。但是为了感谢这位介绍人，每次回国都给她带礼物。
话说，我不在国内，老公曾和她单独在她家包饺子，这是老公自己跟我说的，还跟我嘲
笑她老公回家看到他不热情，不会待人接物。---我怎么解释他才能明白呢，老公说他
心里坦荡，不像我这么心理阴暗---让人哭笑不得。
婚礼的这天，一直忙于敬酒，陪着笑脸，中午的宴席连饭都没吃，只是伺候别人的角色
。晚上，又宴请少数朋友，四桌。
f本来是下午六点的飞机走，后来改成了十点，于是继续跟着晚上吃饭。席间我在女席
，和老公坐在不同的房间。八点，他冲进来，直冲f而去，拎起她的包就说去送她。丝
毫没有和我打招呼！也没和大家打招呼！这个送，不是简单的送，是要送到机场，来回
四个小时！
作为新郎，致我于不顾，致所有的宾客于不顾，在婚礼这天怎么会这样做？！名义上，
她该是我的同学，该和我更近，老公的决定为什么丝毫没有和我商量？有一个司机朋友
送难道不足够么，为什么还要兴师动众呢？
如果新娘新郎非要去一个送，也该是我送，而不是他送。况且，结婚请客，全是他家的
亲朋，他这样抛下大家去送一个女同学合适么？！如果他非要随司机一起去送，回来的
时候席一定已经散了。席间全是他的街坊邻居，我一个都不认识，我一个人在一群不认
识的大妈大爷中间，这是新娘么。
f如果是个懂事的人，也不会如此；虽然是不请自来，我们还是愿意欢迎的；机场两个
小时的车程，打车本来很方便，婚礼那么缺人手，缺车，为什么非要接送呢。我还有另
外一个舍友来参加婚礼，人家建议她打车走，被她嗤之以鼻。这种不为别人考虑的人，
我没法把她从内心里当好朋友。十年以来，我一直是能避则避之。
我见老公要亲自去送，很诧异，立刻站起来说，我去送。他说让我留下陪客人。此时，
我赌气铁了心的要亲自送她走。这一天，不仅仅劳累，而且委屈，我全然就是个陪衬，
没有人关心你吃了没有，他只知道需要敬酒的时候我跟在他后面。
送她之后到家，已经是半夜12点了，家里一片漆黑，他醉的迷迷糊糊在外面床上绻着。
知道我回家，没有任何招呼。他很生气，我也很生气。心很凉很凉，我很想立刻住到外
面的旅馆去。但是不想惊扰婆婆，不好收场。他睡了结婚的床，我睡外面的床。----非
常绝望，这就是期待了很久，精心准备的婚礼。婚礼是什么呢，对于我来说，就是穿着
难受的衣服和鞋子，陪着笑脸，站在寒风里迎宾，挨个挨个的敬酒，二十桌宴席上连自
己的座位都没有，然后挨个挨个的送客，然后晚上继续陪着笑脸敬酒。然后独自伤心，
这是结婚么？
第二天一早，两个人不免为昨天的事吵，于是他说咱们离婚吧。离婚提了很多次，我没
有想到婚礼之后第二天立刻就又提出来了。
我相信他没做龌龊事，但是我不能忍受他做这么不得体的事，我行我素，根本不考虑我
的感受。一直希望随着时间，随着经历，他能成熟起来，学会考虑别人的感受。可是已
经三十几岁了，还没有任何进步。只要有外人在场，他永远把别人摆在第一位，不顾家
人的感受，不关心家人的冷暖劳累，还要求妻子夫唱妇随。好几次，我觉得殷勤周到的
太过火，似乎人家是主子，自己是奴才。人和人是平等的，特别是对某些不懂事的人，
我不愿意委曲求全，苛求自己。
出现任何问题，我都希望我能讲清楚我的道理，能让他理解；可是他永远听不进去，在
任何矛盾出现时，都立刻想到离婚。
遇上了这样一个人，还夹着这样一个所谓的“媒人"，真是进退两难。我没有宽广的心
胸，我做不到不分青红皂白的夫唱妇随。只是可怜了时光，可怜了两年多的异地坚持，
可怜了一辈子只有一次的婚礼。早知如此，何必当初。散了吧，还能有什么选择呢？

不要被普世党洗脑，不是所有的美国的animal shelters 都是“小动物救助站”。如果
你决定把猫狗送animal shelter，请
1。了解一下这个shelter是kill 还是 no-kill, 直接问他们，再问问当地人。一般在
petsmart, petco摆摊的是no-kill，但还是要开口问。
2。问问shelter 有没有用钱买命的program: "guarantee adoption". 交一笔（或n笔
）钱，保证送去的猫狗活多长时间，一般大头照能上website 的都是交了钱的。
3。不要说送去的是流浪猫狗，这个谎一定要撒，要不就别往shelter送，人家流浪也不
碍你啥事啊。
不管是SPCA 还是Humane Society,都是松散的组织，各地的policy都不一样，所以一定
要开口问！
请大家补充。谢谢。

一些基本的救助信息，醫藥使用信息，的確應該置頂，而不是收到精華區。如果有各

lz为什么不把那个媒人送到两站地外的好打车的地方，
然后请她下车，
给她车钱，
跟她说想起来席上还有很重要的事，
得赶回去。
请她体谅。
让她上出租车自己走。
那媒人不见得还打车回你的酒席，继续吵闹要新郎重新送去机场吧。
不过你让客人自己掏钱雇车去机场，
还认为客人应该识相，
也有点过分了。
你和你老公都有不圆滑灵通的地方，
要互相体谅。

我曾经从shelter pull过猫咪，很可怜，很可怜
纽约的shelter大部分都只给3天时间，所以大家一定要三思
我pull过的猫咪中，其中有一个，被送到shelter以后一直看着窗外想家，不明白为什
么被抛弃了，他很敏感，很细腻，透过他的眼神你就知道他在想很多事情。我看到主人
送shelter的原因差点没昏过去，因为他们家生了孩子，倒不是孩子过敏，而是因为他
们认为猫咪太嫉妒了！后来即使被我们pull出来后，还是因为抑郁引发了FIP。。。

i happen to read this article written by a shelter worker. Very shocking and
heartbreaking. FYI.

OR THINK YOU CAN FIND HOMES FOR LITTERS OF PUPPIES + KITTENS
BECAUSE YOU FAILED TO FIX YOUR PETS....PLEASE READ~
I think our society needs a huge "Wake-Up" call.
As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all...a
view from the inside if you will.
First off, all of you people who have ever surrendered a pet to a shelter or
humane society should be made to work in the "back" of an animal shelter
for just one day. Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost,
confused eyes you would stop flagging the ads on Craigslist and help these
animals find homes. That puppy you just bought from a breeder will most
likely end up in my shelter when it's not a cute little puppy anymore. Just
so you know there's a 90% chance that a dog will never walk out of the
shelter it's dumped at, purebred or not! About 25% of all of the dogs that
are "owner surrenders" or "strays" that come into a shelter are purebred
dogs.
The most common excuses: "We are moving and we can't take our dog (or cat)."
Really? Where are you moving to that doesn't allow pets? Or they say, "The
dog got bigger than we thought it would." How big did you think a German
Shepherd would get? "We don't have time for her." Really? I work a 10-12
hour day and still have time for my 6 dogs! "We can't afford to fix our pets
and can't find homes for the litters." There are many free and low cost
spay-neuter clinics in the USA and it is much easier and cheaper to fix your
pet than try to find homes for litters of puppies and kittens, pay for
booster shots, feed litters of pets, etc. Why allow puppies and kittens to
be born only to have them euthanized?? "She's tearing up our yard." Most
dogs act out due to lack of exercise/activity. How about making her a part
of your family and take her on daily walks (even a 15-minute walk helps)? If
there are behavior issues, many shelters and humane societies have an
animal behaviorist on staff that will work with pet owners for free. They
always tell me, "We just don't want to have to stress about finding a place
for her. We know she'll get adopted, she's a good dog."
Odds are your pet won't get adopted and how stressful do you think being in
a shelter is? Well, let me tell you, your pet has 72-hours to find a new
family from the moment you drop it off. Sometimes a little longer if the
shelter isn't full and your dog or cat manages to stay completely healthy.
If it sniffles, it dies. Your pet will be confined to a small run/kennel in
a room with other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve itself
where it eats and sleeps. It will be depressed and it will cry constantly
for the family that abandoned it. If your pet is lucky, I will have enough
volunteers in that day to take him/her for a walk. If I don't, your pet won'
t get any attention besides having a bowl of food slid under the kennel door
and the waste sprayed out of its pen with a high-powered hose.
If your dog is big, black, older or any of the "Bully" breeds (Pit Bull,
Rottie, Mastiff, etc.) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through
the front door. Those dogs just don't get adopted. It doesn't matter how '
sweet' or 'well-behaved' they are. If your cat is black or older its chances
of making it out of the pound alive are slim to none. Due to lack of
adoptions and cage space at the pound, even puppies and kittens are
euthanized. . .there is no age discrimination for euthanasia at the pound.
Also, if your pet has health or behavior issues, that is a guaranteed death
sentence.
If your dog or cat doesn't get adopted within its 72-hours and the shelter
is full, it will be destroyed. If the shelter isn't full and your dog or cat
is good enough, and of a desirable enough breed it may get a stay of
execution, but not for long. Most dogs get very kennel protective after
about a week and are destroyed for showing aggression. Even the sweetest
dogs will turn in this environment. If your pet makes it over all of those
hurdles, chances are it will get kennel cough or an upper respiratory
infection and will be destroyed because the shelter gets paid a fee to
euthanize each animal, and making money is better than spending money to
take this animal to the vet.
Here's a little Euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed a
perfectly healthy, scared animal being "put-down."
First, your pet will be taken from its kennel on a leash or if it is a cat
it will be carried. They always look like they think they are going for a
walk happy, wagging their tails. Until they get to "The Room," every one of
them freaks out and puts on the brakes when we get to the door. It must
smell like death or they can feel the sad souls that are left in there, it's
strange, but it happens with every one of them.
Your dog or cat will be restrained, held down by 1 or 2 shelter workers
depending on the size and how freaked out they are.
Then a shelter worker who we call a euthanasia tech (not a vet) tries to
find a vein in the front leg and inject a lethal dose of the "pink stuff."
Hopefully your pet doesn't panic from being restrained and jerk. I've seen
the needles tear out of a leg and been covered with the resulting blood and
been deafened by the yelps and screams.
They all don't just "go to sleep," sometimes they spasm for a while, gasp
for air and defecate on themselves.
You see shelters are trying to make money to pay employee paychecks and don'
t forget the board of directors needs to be paid, too, so we don't spend our
funds to tranquilize the animal before injecting them with the lethal drug
we just put the burning lethal drug in the vein and let them suffer until
dead. If it were not a "making money issue" and we had to have a licensed
vet do this procedure the animal would be sedated or tranquilized and then
euthanized, but to do this procedure correctly would cost more money so we
do not follow what is right for the animal, we just follow what is the
fastest way we can make a dollar.
Shelters do not have to have a vet perform their euthanasia's so even if it
takes our employee 50 pokes with a needle and 3 hours to get the vein that
is what we do. Making money is the issue here not losing money. And, some
shelters still utilize gas euthanasia which causes an even slower death than
lethal injections.
When it all ends, your pet's corpse will be stacked like firewood in a large
freezer in the back with all of the other animals that were killed, waiting
to be picked up like garbage.
What happens next? Cremated? Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? Or
used for the schools to dissect and experiment on? You'll never know and it
probably won't even cross your mind. It was just an animal and you can
always buy another one, right?
I hope that those of you who still have a beating heart and have read this
are bawling your eyes out and can't get the pictures out of your head, I
deal with this everyday.
I hate my job, I hate that it exists and I hate that it will always be there
unless pet owners and the public become aware and educated about what
really happens to a pet when it is given up to an animal control or kill
shelter.
Do research, do your homework, and know exactly what you are getting into
before getting a pet.
These shelters and humane societies exist because people just do not care
about animals anymore. Animals were not intended to be disposable but
somehow that is what they are these days.
Animal shelters are an easy way out when you get tired of your dog or cat,
and breeders are the ones blamed for this. Animal shelters and rescue
organizations are making a hefty profit by keeping this misconception going.
Between 9 and 11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters (Humane Society
of the United States estimates 3-4 million) and only you - as a pet owner -
can stop it. I just hope I changed one person's mind about taking their dog
or cat to an animal control, animal shelter, humane society or buying a dog
or cat from a breeder. For those of you that care --- please repost this to
at least one other Craigslist in another city/state and share this with the
public in your communities. Let's see if we can get this all around the US
and have an impact.
