JOB DESCRIPTION
We are a stealth mode AI start-up based in Palo Alto, California. We aim to
educate and empower industries to utilize cutting-edge AI and IoT
technologies to deliver a positive impact to the people, services, and
environment within those industries. The company is backed by Stanford
University as well as world-class investors including Sequoia Capital and
Greylock Partners.
We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our team in developing
next
generation products and platforms to tackle challenging but exciting real-
world
problems. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and
relish the idea of solving real world problems at large scale. You will work
on new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of our
current and future products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Design core components up and down the software stack, developing
primarily in C++.
● Build tools and infrastructure to enable product advancements and
efficiency-gains across both software and hardware.
● Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and software teams to
incorporate
their innovations and vice versa.
● Conduct design and code reviews.
● Evaluate, analyze and optimize system resources related to image
processing,
computer vision and machine learning.
● Develop solutions for real world problems and integrate solutions into
products.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
Mathematics,
Physics, Robotics or related technical field
● 3+ years experience developing software in C++ for real-time embedded
systems.
● Experience developing software for computer vision, machine learning or
computer graphics applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience working on depth sensor technology, imaging/camera systems
and/or consumer mobile products
● Experience with hardware, firmware and drivers.
● Experience with CPU/GPU programming.
● Experience with OS internals and kernel development/debugging for Linux.
● Knowledge about basic computer vision algorithms is a plus.

我家宝宝，才五个多月，下周要动个小手术，会要全麻。我很担心，看有文章说２岁前
宝宝麻醉会导致
多动症（ADHD），还有under-4-year-olds is linked to learning disabilities

1. general anesthesia is the only safe method to achieve a sufficiently good
anesthesia in small children.
2. as to the studies you mentioned, there are two things: 1) only repeated
anesthesia is linked to increased risk 2) they are based on patients done
something ~30 years ago. the drugs used are different now, as well as
monitoring and etc. so it is not clear whether the results from those
studies can be translated into today's situation.

对我来说，创业比较理想的状况是
1. 税前年收入至少要有20万美金，
2. 每天工作平均不超过3到4个小时，而且可以随心所欲完全按照我的节奏，
什么时候想工作都行
3. 只要有网络在什么地方工作都行，work at home，work at anywhere,
也可以一边周游世界一边工作

为什么我觉得deal网站非常走不开人呢，周末还要更新，而且没有办法防抄

同意。最近加州除了两个中国人的deal 网站，感觉他们更像是给
mitbbs和文学城打工，收入多数都做广告了。
而且，那个dealam老板说现在又二十几个人在做更新，这点钱一分，就没了。

第一第三不难，第二基本不可能。

汗，那是创业成功后的状况。做到那个地步钱应该已经不是问题了，每天不工作都可以。

I think the deal quality of dealam is not as good as dealsea..
why take 20+ people instead of directly copyling like slickdeals, dealnews..

自己创业不就是图个经济自由，时间自由，空间自由么，
能做到这3条的有很多种方式：
1. 像您老一样办网站，比如传说中的plenty of fish，还有一些流量大的论坛、博客
等，每天只要花几个小时管理一下或更新一两篇文章，光靠adsense就收入不菲。我知
道您老现在还做不到，过几年说不定可以
2. 自己网上交易股票、option、期货、forex等，做中长线的，不搞短期交易和day
trading，每天只要花几个小时看看新闻，balance一下自己的portfolio，当然年入20
万美金以上得靠天赋，不到1%的人能做到
3. 写书，每天花几个小时写一写，一年出几本，时间空间都很自由
4. 软件开发, 写iphone\android apps等
以上列举的都是一个人或者夫妻店就能干成的，如果创业真得做成facebook，twitter
那么大了，你就别想每天只花几个小时了，得对投资方、对股东、对员工负责，一年收
入肯定不止20万美金，但也失去时间、空间自由了。

not as easy as that...
1, whenever the website is hacked, you have to respond... people don't hack
only because it's not large/famous/chanllenging/financial beneficial..
ANd internet market competetion is most firce of all... you need to compete
with front-runner and catch-ups.
2, long term traders are also hard workers, check peter lynch
3, you need to spend more time SELLIMNG than writing
4, as 3.
It's not impossible , but harder than what you said here

创业这么容易大家都不打工了。人与人千差万别，我达不达得到，和你没有关系。
你描述的境界，懂技术的，大概百分一二可能达到。
不懂技术的要找人干活的，大概千分之一二，可能达到。
比如，网站稍有些更改，懂技术的人自己动手，两个小时，不花一分钱。
不懂技术的，要请人，讨论来讨论去，改来改去，政治呀，沟通呀，
要二十小时，还要花大笔钱。
归根结底，创业是一种精神，无论多成功，没有一个创业者会每天干四五个小时就停下来的。
所谓图个经济自由，时间自由，空间自由，都是传销或者网上scam的口号，
骗骗那些希望不劳而获的懒汉的。
