hi, buddy, here is I found from Google,
Please note once you are in I-485 stage, it is a big hurdle. Remember H1-B
and H1-B transfer is very complicated and lot of companies do not want to
sponsor and if you loose a job you have find a sponsor within 2-4 weeks,
which really hard, if not you will be in out of status. Whereas once you
have EAD, and I-485 is pending, you can be out of job as long as they have
not made the decision regarding your case, but it is highly recommended to
make atleast 20K doing any part-time job in mean-time to find another full
job. Anything above 180 days no job is risky because sometimes they want the
last 3-4 years of tax returns.
So guys it is not a big issue working part-time using EAD, think of it like
temporary Green Card. The reason you have the EAD so that you can work any
where whether it is any part-time or full-time job. Put once I-485
adjusticate you have to have same or similar occupation as stated in your
Labor Certification in order to get it approved. I do not have an H1-B
status anymore because my new company do not want sponsor so I chose EAD.
There is no risk, only risk I see if my I-485 or I-140 gets rejected and
then I have to pack up and leave the U.S.A immediately. I have lot of people
at my firm use EAD and got their GC. So it is little risk, but I do not see
why you need H1-B. My recommendation if you can't find a sponsor does the
H1-B then go with EAD, if you get good job. This my recommendation as well
my Lawyers's recommendation. Remember key is I-140 to be approved then you
are close to approval..Hang in there
