It came one day earlier then schedule. Fast focus,
especially on F100 -- while, F100 focuses fast.
Focusing is very quite as expected.
Like its big eye and the cute hood. It also has a new
rear cap, kind of surprised. It is significantly bigger
than 50/1.8G
It has slight geometric distortion, but much better than
35/1.8D DX. The 50/1.8D does not show geometric
distortions, so I think I will keep it (never thought of
let go anyway).
Happy with this new kid in town.

How about the distortion? Is it easy to correct?

I did not test. 35/1.8G DX can be corrected in-camera.
I am sure 50/1.8G can, but may need a newer body. Well,
I do not know if the lens sends in correction info or
it is done according to the lens ID info. However, computer
software correction is always available if really want.
50/1.8G distortion is not too high. People can ignore it
most of the time.

In general, if I want light weight one lens, I use 35 on D90, D60.
To shoot passport head-shoulder pics, I use 50, 60, or even 85,
depends on my mood.There are other occasions I use 50mm.
Sometimes I use 35/f2D (not the DX G lens) on F100, N70. But for
film, I use 50mm more often.
I have 14-24, 24-70, so...
