Originally from China, I am currently in the position of petitioning for US
residency to allow me to continue my research career in the USA. The United&
#8232;States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) expects applicants
to provide reference letters from independent, international, and
prominent experts who know the applicant’s research contribution but
do not have personal connection with him/her.
It is my great pleasure to notice that one of my paper was cited in your
recently published paper titled GGG in 2013 at FFF. I am wondering if it is
possible to get a supporting recommendation letter from you to give your
opinion of my contributions so far to the field. If yes, I will draft the
reference letter for your reference, which will contain brief introduction
of your background and research interests, and some discussion of my
work. The letter will be only used for my green card application. I will
send you the draft, and you are welcome to write or modify what you
feel comfortable based on the draft, sign it electronically, scan it,
and email it back to me (or sign and mail, I will cover the postage).
