A couple were visiting a vista point near the Golden Gate Bridge in San
Francisco this past Valentine’s Day when they came across a black camera
bag that had apparently been misplaced. After the owner didn’t turn up to
recover it, they looked inside and found a wallet with Chinese currency,
credit cards, an “expensive-looking” camera and lens… and $11,000 in cash.
"First I was thinking it was drug money," The wife, Barbara Landeros said "I
said, maybe somebody's supposed to pick it up."
After waiting for about an hour and a half at the bridge after receiving
advice from several family members they phoned, the couple dropped the bag
off at downtown police headquarters.
Several days later, the couple learned the bag and its contents belonged to
a Chinese tourist who had attended college in the Bay Area and was traveling
to San Francisco with his extended family.
