both cameras are set to F5.6, 1/60s, ISO3200, ASTIA, NR:-2, all others:

X100 vs. X100S -- see the attached 100% crop pics.
Looks like X100S's pic is applied with certain NR already even w/ NR=-2 --
though I won't call it waxy. Interestingly, the detail is better kept
compared to X100, e.g., the hairs and cloth etc.
the pic in the other thread seems over cooked -- I have seen that kind of
effect in LR if people set the NR to very high.
