http://techrights.org/2015/04/08/microsoft-cruelty/

I am really not confident about my language. I have an interview coming soon?
Is there any practical approach to polish my English quickly?
like watch movie or ...?
Any kind suggestions are highly welcome.
Sorry I can't type Chinese right now.

soon?

you have to speak OUT LOUD to practice your spoken english.
try to talk to your close friends in ENGLISH, i know it will be weird at the
beginning, but it WORKS.
no matter how awkward the sentence is, if you say that 50 times, you will be
familiar with it.

soon?

You said it.
My boss always thinks I am too shy to speak although I don't think I am a shy
person.
He told me today "no more Chinese before your interview" and "keep watching
American movie like for the following days." haha, I like watching
movies.
Thank you very much.

good point. I have a lot of things to prepare.
Although after defense I become more confident, I still need to polish
interview skills.
This is my first interview (in two weeks)but it will affect my future
decision.
generally people prefer to find a job before graduation, but I did
oppositely. I defense first and then try application. A hard way to push
myself.

Yean。
There are a lot of Chinese students around me, so most of time I speak
Chinese.
My friend's daughter came the same year as I and at that time she was only 4
years old. Now her talk is just like a native speaker.

Relax and just be yourself.
You can not improve much in such a short time.

lz, let me tell u the truth, if u really wanna to improve ur english, u got put urself into an environment where no 1 else knows how to speak chinese. There is absolutely no way that u gonna be able to improve ur english if u always hang around with chineses. Even though my english is probably just as_good as an american, but i_remember_when i first came to america 10 yrs ago, my english sucked. Every time i wanted to say something in english, i had to think how to say the sentence in chinese first, and then translate it into english before i say it. Anyway, here is a paragraph that i wrote on how i improved my english, hope it helps.

Hi, daishuo,
Thank you so much for your kindness.
It seems like only when I deal with my research I read English. Besides TA
teaching and occasionally going to American Church on weekends I spend most
of time speaking Chinese and looking through Chinese website like mitbbs
and wenxuecity.
what other environment can I try in reality?

idk what kind of environment. I mean when i first came to america, the
middle school that i went to, there were not that many chineses around,
almost all of my teachers and classmates were non-chinese speakers. The
only time i was able to speak chinese was during my esl class, there were
several ppl there that knew how to speak chinese, so i remember during my
first couple yrs living in the states, all the friends that i made were from
my esl class, :-). I think i mentioned that in one of the journals that i
wrote in my_blog. My english was pretty good after i graduated from hs, but
during the first 2 yrs of college, i was living in the dorm, and my
roommate was a white guy; we were friends back in hs, so i had to speak
english 24/7 for almost 2 yrs, thats when i really start thinking and
perceving in english, sometimes speaking chinese all the time became sort of
a difficult thing for me. Even in the threads that i wrote, if u pay
attention, rarely, you will find 1 thats written completely in chinese.
Anyway, i understand what u are going through, wyysmile, i don't think
english is something that can be improved over a short period of time.
Especially for ppl that came here after the age of 22, even if u wanna to
practice english w/ americans, sometimes u just don't know what to say to
them. But don't give up, if u really really want to, i guess i don't mind
practice english w/ u, maybe not orally, but at least verbally. English is
one of those things that you just have to put the time and effort into it,
day after day, wk after wk, and eventually, you will see the results.I
remember when i first came to america, i wanted to improve my english
desperately, but it ended up taking me almost 3, 4 yrs to be able to really
speak the language. I wish it took me much shorter, 3 or 4 months would be
great, but that wasn't the case at all.
All in all, gl with learning english, i feel ur pain, cuz i was just like u,
if not worse when i first came to america 10 yrs ago.Hope everything works
out in the end and God bless, :-)
