Just being curious, can DOS be installed on a current PC?
Assuming it's typical configuration with an i3 processor
and 4GB memory? What about current virtual machines such as
VMWare? In other words, is real mode still supported? Thanks.

You should be able to install DOS on vmware virtual machine.
I was able to install DOS on vmware virtual machine couple years ago.
