if they did not say "abridged" then it should be the same
some even boast of "unabridged"

if you can borrow the audio books from local library and make mp3 yourself...

There is also fully performed type, which is more fun. Many actors voiced
different characters with background music and sound, like BBC radio version
of LotR..(Haven't we had enough of it?!)
For unabridged classics, I'd love to recommend "Swann's Way". 1st, the reader
John Rowe's voice is awfully charming, and of American accent. 2nd, this kind
of book is worth listening word by word.

there are both cassett and CD versions in market.
some library only has cassetts for this.
