以前顶不爱看人物传记，但今天整理一下近期买的书，发现不知不觉也买了不少呢。
1. Proust by Edmund White, Weidenfeld&Nicolson 1999
我很喜欢amazon上的listmania，最近排行第一的list是“What to read when
reading Proust”，把长期雄踞榜首的“amazon sells silly stuff”（这个单子极有趣
）挤了下去，其中就提到了这本一百余页的小书。列单子的人自称为Amateur Proust
Adulator，他说，For those lacking the time or energy to read Tadie or Clarke,
this short biography will prove a fabulous short introduction to Proust's
life.
这本小书我们local的旧书店是有的，企鹅版，封面中规中矩的那种，虽然新书只卖
三块，但我不急，慢慢等吧，总有一天会降到一块的。今天去旧书店，在clearance区发
现另一版本的，比企鹅版漂亮得多

the first one in your list is very good, clear and illustrative, much more
readable than expected for bibliographies.;) another book i once read on
proust is also interesting, passionate and sensibly analytical, and it ends
with "even with proust you can be done with it." something like that. i tried
to get it years after but couldn't recall the title. and for an old dusty
book once digged out in the library i even didn't have a single impression on
the cover.
ps you read a lot ah.;)

以前就听你介绍过你们家门口的旧书店，现在又来汇报“战绩”了，真是让人羡慕的要死
呀！:) 不过看来slowsnow妹妹(应该是吧，从你的文章看 :))对英文文学还真是挺有研究
的。我们口也有一间一般的旧书店，但码放得很乱。我经常进去转一圈，却找不到什么好
书，无功而返。看来还是我的水平有限呀，可能错过了不少好书。。。 :(

今天我翻看这本《Proust》，书最后的biographies of Proust里面作者
提到了很多关于普鲁斯特的传记或者是回忆录，里面说不定就有你看过的
那本呢。
我读的确实不多，自打前年来美国才开始学习读英文书的，差得远了。。。

我就是喜欢看书，研究一点儿都没有的说。。。
淘旧书是很需要耐心的。我也是逛了很久书店以后才慢慢摸了点门道。
我列出来的不过六七本书吧，其实都是好几个月里一点点积累起来的，
去一趟书店一本不买也是常事呢。

i looked through the amazon listmania you mentioned. it's probably "proust
and the sense of time".;)
your reading list is very diverse. lots of books i had no idea of.;) a few
times i made a mental note about certain books you mentioned, esp. graphical
novels, just didn't get time to obtain them yet.;)

这正应了方鸿渐那句话，“兴趣广泛，毫无心得”，哈哈。:)
关于graphic novel,我以前写过一个小短文章，贴在下面。
