Rowling sort of hinted that he would play an important role to
Lord Voldermort's final undoing (in book 4). He did not show
up much in book 5 & 6, though...
What would he do in book 7? Anybody's got a guess? :)

yeah... i remember she said wormtail was in debt of Harry. But I don't think
he will turn to be good or brave man, maybe just accidentally let Harry know
how to destroy Voldemont.
A wild guess: remember his hand... maybe he will help Harry to open the locket
that no one can open, where Harry will find a Horcruxe... :P
