For Matlab, you must have run the installation program from a long file
name directory, decompress everything to c:\temp or something like that
would work.
You are installing a Network server version, have to install it to a shared
directory, check out the post in Water BBS for instructions.

First, make sure you are installing FROM a path with no long file/path
name in it; second, make sure you install TO a path with no long path name
in it, say, you have to use c:\Progra~1\Matlab instead of C:\Program Files\..
It's a bug in the Matlab installer.
