Boca Raton-based Oriole Homes shuts down after 45 years in Florida

Oriole Homes Corp. of Boca Raton is the latest casualty of South Florida's
historic housing debacle.
The 45-year-old company has stopped operating and filed in court an
assignment for the benefit of creditors, which is a less costly alternative
to Chapter 7 bankruptcy, said Phil von Kahle, managing director of Fort
Lauderdale insolvency firm Michael Moecker & Associates
