I sold covered call for T today, for VZ yesterday.
T: average cost $25.5, sold July 26C for $0.80, will have 2 dividends of 0.
42 each in early April and early July. by July OE, if T > $26, I will get $
26 + $0.80 + 0.84 = $27.64 - $25.5 = $2.14 per share for a holding time of
roughly 5 month. Break even point is $24.
VZ: average cost $29, sold July 30C for $1.05, will have 2 div

these seems to be the best trades you have 8%-10% for 5months. plus the
stocks that you got which may never be out of water, i'd say you lucky to
get 10% return yearly. am i right?

Frankly, I think selling covered call at current price levels of the
aforementioned stocks is bad timing.
It is understandable if covered calls were sold in January when the stocks
are close to the peak.

you are right that the best I can get is about 8-10% in 5 month...
in the worst case, T/VZ may drop below my break even point, though I believe
that's not very likely. I will "si wu" in that case.
This is about 10-15% of my account, I treat it as a "stable" investment, the
goal here is to beat CD with limited risk.

I agree with you that T/VZ are at relatively low level. maybe I should hold
a little longer before selling the calls. But I am very bearish on the whole
market, that I would rather give up some upside room to lock in what I have
. I plan to hold T/VZ for dividend, not for active trading.

means 你就学了一脚。试些新的招数。你这8－10％是碰上好年头了。烂S都迸发了。
年头差点，不要说08年，就是一般涨10％的年头你都很难挣钱。

08年我可赔惨了，帐号被腰斩了都不止。
俺现在还是08年后遗症啊，稍微涨多点就紧张，赶紧减仓买put。。。。
不过俺现在帐号倒是稳中有升，就是赚不到大钱。
