It seems the rest of the world, except AAPL, survive the selloff,
temporarily.
Until the rumor was officially rejected, there are probably no big buyers
jumping into Apple.
Tim Cook is so important for Apple.

That would be a more challenging job for him, to raise the dead from the
dust.
If I was him, I would accept it, and the payment would be doubled or tripled.

He is first in line for Apple CEO.
"challenging" does not really mean anything to him. He does not need to
prove anything to anybody. He is already COO for the world most successful
company in the past few years.
Salary might be a motivation, but as the risk is much higher, risk/reward
ratio is not that attractive.

If it is 100% chance, it will be enjoyful and proud.
The question is the RISK. Even if salary is 3x, what if he only works for
3 years and fails? Can he return as Apple COO?
If market deems him capable to success, why everybody worry about Jobs
health?

That's exactly the Chinese logic. Only No.1 means something. Only GOLD
medal counts. Only you rank top, or you are a loser.
Americans are different, well, at least not that into the top spot.
Also, as I said, he is first in line for a terminally sick person.
