Qualcomm Inc. is expected to completely corner the Apple Inc.'s iPhone
market by displacing cell-phone chipsets from Intel/Infineon in all iPhones,
opines an analyst.
At present, Apple's iPhone line uses a cell-phone chipset from Infineon
Technologies AG. The carrier for the phone is AT&T. Recently, Intel Corp.
acquired Infineon's wireless chip business, thereby grabbing the Apple
iPhone account.
For some time, it has been rumoured

it's YY....
So far QCOM's high end chip are all SoC, which means the AP is included.That
's not what AAPL wants, especially considering AAPL's A4.
I guess it might be that QCOM will supply a combo (CDMA+WCDMA) BP chip,
modem only to AAPL, that will be a very low margin chip and QCOM will not
like it.
So far even the CDMA only version has many many bugs,not even to mention the
stability of the so called combo chip...

make a lot of sense. there is rumors that apple will release cdma iphone for
verizon or china telecom next year. and qcome is probably the only one
provider here.
