自FB发迹后的startup都是个P。
本来就是泡沫环境下炒起来的一些高中生水平公司。
钻法律漏洞，坑蒙拐骗，却还要装B和高大上，显得自己有culture。
言语骚扰算啥，办公楼梯间都能看到套套，那真是要多low有多low。
丫们内部已经漆黑一片了，还需要外人去黑吗？

在美国的年轻点的中国人, 一般都学历比较高吧.
学历不高也都有其他过人之处. 总之, 感觉都是精英分子, 精英妈妈, 哈哈.

我觉得因为来美国，大部分人都是通过申请来的美国，申请过来的基本上都是拿奖学金
的，有奖学金的基本上是博士
读博中途能转硕还好，可很多人转不了的，想想有奖学金还能养家。所以就念下去了，
所以大家都是高学历了

什么高材生阿，以前读书郁闷的时候就想好歹混出文凭来，以后挂在厨房教育孩子，现
在有份工作爽就爽在想给宝买啥就买啥，也不用听宝爸抱怨。
hehe, 所谓高材生就容易自以为是。

我也是，不过我是BA degree, 我也对phd 刮目相看，觉得我这个专业混到本科自己都
觉得难，应该是我太笨了。

But those people still need good GPAs and good GRE scores to enroll in the
graduate schools/phd programs. And some certain level of IQ to study/
understand the material, especially enroll in the top graduate programs.

恩。俺就是考试专才，一考试，就高分。 但是，其实，P都不会，智商很低，
找不到工作，靠老公的奖学金养着。55555555555555555
俺那高高的GPA真是P用都没有啊。人家用人公司，好像根本就不看GPA的。FT

俺当时是看上学校的工作了（铁饭碗，时间自由（现在充分感受到了），没人指手画脚），就死
活念了个PHD. 没PHD没法申请。要不早就master毕业挣钱逍遥去了

我们学校和来招聘单位达成的协议就是GPA non disclosure policy, 目的是可以降低
点学生之间的竞争, 让大家放松点, 别绷的那么紧.
不过本科毕业找工的时候, GPA可是很重要的, 估计那时候大家简历都很清白, GPA是唯一的硬性指标可以表现自己的了.

。555。我是后悔死浪费那么多年当书呆子啦，我觉得我国内有些朋友大专毕业，混得

我自己学历不高，也没marry个高学历的。我和娃爸都是本科。当年我成绩烂，申请
master都不要我，只能工作去了。LG倒是读过master, 后来看我一个小媳妇家家的挣钱
养家太辛苦，中途找了工作不读了，陪我一起挣钱养家了。现在他的program也过了
deadline了。都是我拖累的。

Hoho, my cousin's LG is a PHD, and she sent over copies of papers
that her LG wrote to her mom who is my mom's younger sister.
And my aunt told my mother, her phd son in law is a
very smart person, the paper he wrote is very long and complicated. So, my mom asks me why my LG does not have any paper like that, so she can show off to her sister. I said my LG had a master degree, so he did not write much paper as my cousin's LG does.

我还是觉得GPA能反应一些事情的，因为大家的背景差不多，也都是专职学生。我挑学
生的时候如果是本科生就是看GPA和
关键科目的成绩，剩下的东西聊上10分钟就知道了。

唯一的硬性指标可以表现自己的了.

oh yeah, after years and years in graduate school, i learnt how to write
long long papers, how to make a paper read complicated, but smooth, well,
very difficult to understand, and sound about right. this is a very
important skill in both acedemic and industry, lol

没错，没funding基本是tenure无望。有的学校还变相取消tenure唉，那里都不好混，
看看现在考大学的才可怜呢。

My LG has master degree from a good university. So I always admire him, and

这个我很同意, 本科的GPA是很重要的, 申请研究生的时候, GPA就是一个硬性指标, 不
过门槛的话就不用浪费钱申请了.
研究生毕业找工的话, 那就不同了, GPA只是超级小的一个部分, 别的占了觉大多数,
高的GPA不能保证能够找到好的工作, 可是找到很好工作的, GPA绝对没有差的.

are more important.

你们说的都没错, 只不过出发点不同而已.
Elite school的学生, 可以录取的, 绝大多数是GPA和其它综合素质非常好的学生(排除
某些靠家族原因进去的学生, 比如说小BUSH, 吼吼), 否则不能进去, 学校的牌子就是
一个肯定了. 这个过程GPA是很重要的.
但是这类学校的学生找工的时候, GPA绝对不重要了, 来招人的单位也绝对不会问GPA多
少, 更注重的是能力和是否FIT了.
