Monday is projected to be the busiest day in the history of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport as hub carrier
American(AMR_) and partner American Eagle expect to carry about 40,000 originating passengers, 10,000 more than
average. That does not include passenger changing planes on American, which carries about three quarters of the
airport's traffic.
American is advising passengers to arrive three hours early for their flights. The airport anticipates that its buses will
carry three times their normal loads, and the Transportation Security Administration is also gearing up for heavy
crowds. Ticket counters, security check points and concessions in Terminal D and part of Terminal B will be staffed all
night Sunday into Monday, and American Terminals A and C will open at 3 a.m. Monday.
Although the weather was bad and flights were limited in Dallas on Friday, American made sure that all flights from
Pittsburgh and Chicago were given priority, said American spokesman Ed Martelle.
夏天应该有不俗表现。
"We definitely are seeing a shift away from lower-yielding leisure travel to higher-yielding business travel and as
business continues to come back -- and if the consumer comes back at all -- we should have very good numbers," she
explained. "We're a little cautious on the first, but we're looking at a good summer."

Gerard Arpey
Okay, thank you, Chris. Good afternoon, everyone. As you have seen in our press release this morning, we reported a
significant improvement in both our fourth quarter and full year 2010 results compared to 2009. We substantially
reduced our net loss for all of 2010 compared to the $1.5 billion loss that we incurred in 2009. This obviously
represents an improvement in more than $1 billion versus a year ago. And that in spite of a fuel bill that was merely
$850 million higher than it would've been at 2009 prices.
A lot of hard work on the part of everyone at American went into accomplishing this improvement. And while we have
a lot more work to do to achieve our goal of sustained profitability, we are optimistic about the trajectory we are on and
we believe that the groundwork we laid in 2010 has positioned us well for future success. I want to thank our
employees for their hard work and dedication this past year and for their continued efforts in what is shaping up to be a
very busy start to 2011.
Bella will walk you through our results in more detail in a few moments. But first, let me just highlight a couple of
things. In 2010, we took several major steps to restructure and fortify our domestic network. Today, nearly 98% of our
capacity is in one of our five cornerstone markets. We are now stronger in the markets that matter most to our
premium and corporate customers: New York, LA, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth and Miami, the premier gateway to Latin
America. And in 2011 our focus on our cornerstone markets will include a significant expansion of our Los Angeles
service starting in April.
Our transatlantic joint business with British Airways and Iberia is now up and running, offering customers better fares,
more choices and easier connections. The transatlantic joint business, initially representing approximately $7 billion in
combined revenue between the carriers, serves more than 400 destinations in over 100 countries with approximately
5,200 daily departures.
This new relationship is enabling our three companies in oneworld to compete far more effectively with the other global
alliances on routes between Europe and North America. In 2011, we look for us to deepen our relationship with VA and
Iberia on many fronts, importantly including more coordinated joint flight schedules beginning this spring.
Turning to the Pacific. Last week we announced that we expect our joint business with Japan Airlines to launch on
April 1. Our transpacific joint business will initially include 10 nonstop routes across the Pacific. American and JAL will
also code-share on a total of 123 routes, and we will continue to expand our code-share whenever that is possible.
In addition, American will begin flying to Tokyo's Haneda Airport nonstop from New York's Kennedy Airport on
February 18. As we launch our joint businesses across both the Atlantic and Pacific, we are simultaneously enhancing
and expanding our global network of partners, adding quality carriers in the markets that matter most to our customers,
including airberlin in Europe, S7 in Russia, and Kingfisher in India. We are also very pleased to welcome our long-time
partner Qantas to Dallas Forth Worth with the announcement last week that they plan to start flights to DFW airport in
May.
As all of you know, our fleet renewal efforts are well underway as we took delivery of 45 new 737 aircraft in 2010 with
more coming over the next few years. In addition to today's announcement regarding our intent to purchase two 777-
300 aircraft will bolster our network strategy, allowing us to take advantage of new opportunities made possible by our
joint businesses across the Atlantic and Pacific.
So before I hand it over to Bella, in closing, all of us are intensely focused on improving our results going forward. As
always, we're keeping a close eye on fuel prices and the economy. And we're looking forward to work ahead in 2011 as
we become a stronger, more successful airline for the benefit of our shareholders, customers and employees.

British Airways Says AMR Venture May Add $500 Million in Revenue
By Steve Rothwell - Feb 8, 2011 9:00 AM GMT+0900

British Airways said its pact with American Airlines may add $500 million in
sales by year’s end as joint scheduling and new routes push the alliance’
s share of the Europe-North America air-travel market toward 25 percent.
BA, sister carrier Iberia Lineas Aeraeas de Espana of Spain and AMR Corp.’s
American aim to add at least “a few points” to their 21 percent share of
passengers on the world’s most lucrative long-haul routes, Simon Talling-
Smith, the U.K. company’s vice-president for the Americas, said in an
interview.
“It’s building up pretty fast,” Talling-Smith said in London. “We’ll be
operating as a pretty smooth joint business by the end of this year. If you
’ve just got a new alliance on the go you’d hope to get a bit of market
share on the back of that.”
British Airways, AMR and Iberia won antitrust approval for a deeper accord
in July, giving them 50 percent of U.S. flights at London’s Heathrow
airport. Each percentage point of market share gained on the North Atlantic,
where the Oneworld alliance members compete with rivals from the Star and
SkyTeam groups, adds about $250 million in combined sales, Talling-Smith
said.
After announcing codeshares -- a type of reciprocal sales arrangement -- and
four new routes in October, the carriers are ready to meld their schedules
and align pricing to tap the full benefits of the alliance, the executive
said in the interview on Feb. 4, adding that they’ll also begin negotiating
joint contracts with corporate clients and travel agents.
‘Tidy Up’
“We’d like to tidy up our schedules on parallel routes so that we space
out flights and they’re not all on top of each other,” he said. “It takes
a season or two to do that.”
Traffic between North America and Europe is growing, and on some routes
originating in the U.S. has almost recovered to levels seen in 2007 and 2008
before the global slump depressed demand, said Talling-Smith, who spoke at
Heathrow after a press conference on a British Airways campaign to lure more
small businesses to use its flights.
British Airways aims to tap the rebound by renewing first- class cabins on
Boeing Co. 747s and 777s that operate seven daily flights between Heathrow
and New York’s John F. Kennedy airport, with the last plane to be finished
this month, he said.
New Routes
The three carriers are also adding services to compete with SkyTeam, led by
Air France-KLM Group and Delta Air Lines Inc., and Star, whose leading
members are Deutsche Lufthansa AG and United Continental Holdings Inc.
Iberia will begin flying from Madrid to Los Angeles on March 28 and from
Barcelona to Miami a day later, American will add New York-Budapest on April
6 and Chicago-Helsinki May 2, and British Airways will commence London-San
Diego services on June 1.
Willie Walsh, the chief executive officer of International Consolidated
Airlines Group SA, of which BA and Iberia became part after merging on Jan.
25, said last year that the AMR venture would generate more than $100
million in annual sales.
London-based IAG has slipped 5.8 percent since it was formed, valuing the
company at 4.94 billion pounds ($7.9 billion). AMR, based in Fort Worth,
Texas, had declined 6.6 percent this year as of 12:32 p.m. in New York
trading yesterday, and has a market value of $2.43 billion.
