借贵地问个问题：我是绿卡但是从来没有工作和交税，我1年后公民申请会有麻烦吗？
美国政府会认为我不交税只拿福利为难我吗？其实我也不想申请公民，主要是我快50了
，我想把我70岁的父母结来养老所以不的不入籍。这个狗政策真麻烦。如果我1年后公
民申请会有麻烦，我就准备找个最简单的活干干，交一年的税。其实干个简单的活，然
后交税，拿到的钱还没有福利的多，这就是我一直没有工作的原因。美国很多这种不合
理的政策真折磨人。

if you didn't use public assistance, you will be fine.

what's your GC category? for many categories, you should not receive
certain benefits in first 5 years, or it is considered not in good moral
character. If you belong to certain categories such as asylee, then you are
fine to reveice welfare and get naturalized.

Then you are fine to the entitlements, no problem in your natualization.
You probably got your I-485 without paying a fee. You may try to see
whether you can waive N-400 fee too based on your category.
