I just bought one and converted some PDF files...the only problem for me is
the font is too small.....

Press the "Aa" button - you will be able to change font size, line spacing,
etc.

It take some time to get used to kindle.
especially you are used to read thick heavy paper books.
but you will like it eventually.
build-in dictionary is nice.

For PDF, you can change the size too.
but then the whole page is bigger than your screen. you need to scroll,
which is kind of annoying.
if you can 6 inch PDF, they are made for kindle. use them you will feel
better.
for me, I just convert everything to mobi first.
then you can zoom in/out easily.

这个379刀，新的ipad 出来估计也不比这个贵多少吧。
不过这个功能不错：
Read-to-Me: With the text-to-speech feature, Kindle DX can read newspapers,
magazines, blogs, and books out loud to you, unless the book's rights holder
