We recently received the HP Officejet Pro 8500a . We plugged the printer in
and sparks came out of it and now it does not work. We would like to return
the printer for a new one. Please let me know what the process is so we can
get this resolved.

如果是在店里可以退的期限内，找店里退；
如果超过了退货期限，找厂家保修。

从amazon 买一台给他，然后把那个退回amz

告诉他，你没存货了（if it is true）
让他找hp换一台新的，这样比等你处理来的快得多
