我相信，大事都是从小事做起的，我相信聚沙成塔的力量。
在Chicago，人口只有我们几分之一的韩国人可以把超市开成Wal-Mart的规模。
而我们中国人做的最大的超市也就是几个房间大大家发。我知道咱们中国人相互缺乏信

Do you know Market Maker? it was done by traders manually, but in the recent
few years, MM was taken by computers. This is an example of HFT.
理念: Use computer to catch arbitrages that are very hard to get by traders
manually. Reduce risk to minimum.

Yeah, private line is needed, but that's not a problem. (You may not know,
some brokerage, provide colo only cost about 200$/mon, your machine will be
right beside exchanges)

just my personal experience. you really need to work with someone you trust
a lot. for example, it's ok for you to lose half of the capital. otherwise
, it's a mess. read snowball first.

well well, if you really close to wall street, you may know there's a chance
hft will be banned by sec. in essence, hft is the same as huang niu in

没事兄弟，我就就举个简单的例子，坛子里经常有人说MM，你可以想像一下，说AAPL吧。
BID 404.50，ASK 405.00
有一个哥们觉得AAPL要涨，有点急了，出价405.00去buy AAPL，MM 就sell [email protected]
给这个哥们.
如果同时另一个哥们觉得AAPL应该要跌，急着出手把AAPL short了，MM就同时能buy，
但价格只有404.50，想想他们赚多少？一股0.5$
如果buy不到，MM就直接sell给ASK方，（多少，405.00，就亏点commission,几厘钱）
中间当然会等一会儿。
以前这些工作是broker手工做，就是那些floor trader，现在你去CBOE和NSDQ看看，还
有几个floor traders? 剩下就做一些OTC的symbols了。

Trading assets: equities, equity options and futures.
PNL depends on different strategies (I can show track record to ppl
seriously want to be in).
I don't want to build infrastructure from scratch, will use some brokerage
firm at the beginning (the cost for machine is about 15000$/unit, can start
with one or two machines).
I have some MM strategies, but most of them are about arb.

呵呵，知道姜凯八卦的估计比知道他创业的人多。我上面说过，做私募fund的2009后剩下
就没有几家了，姜凯的Dragon Fund也未能幸免。
我再提一个，Sun Trading 的 Hu Tong，他是Sun Trading的partner之一，从三四人的
小公司做到2008、2009，>$1M profit/day。你知道么？

I once applied a samll company who sells this kind of software to other

可以说，我和你志同道合，可惜我现在没有资本。
另外，我的edge是对TA和FA的混合应用。
你说的Ambitrage，好处是风险小，坏处就是回报底，属于钝刀割肉末。
我在168私募，开始有人吹牛逼在银行工作，说可以提供百万，千万，怕我不敢接手。
要求做模拟，我做了些，估计被拷贝了，可惜仍然没有投资。后来我就混合做，
真真假假地，主要是消磨时光，同时寻找真人。

about Wall Street.
Remember, the only test of ability is not
track record (that can be faked) but the
real future test, i.e. price forecasts.
Also, I don't believe it is possible to
profit in both bull and bear markets for
long, if you do not have some edge in
correctly judging the future, i.e. the
ability to forecast.
Don't mean to discourage you, but there
is a lot of knowledge and know-how needed
for success in trading.

there r already too many competitors in the street.
As I know, lots of them filed bankrupt in the last 2 yrs.
LZ is brave to believe there r no mm and 逆势而为。
and for a common person who has a decent job for 5 yrs. 500K is not a big
money with smart investment done.
with leverage and good prospect, one could easily get 1-2M+ loans.

Actually, I am not trying to do MM.
To do MM, you need more than $500K, coz you have to quote both side. $500K,
how much buying power do you think you can get? With that buy power, how
many symbols you can quote?

with the transaction fee rebate, as you mentioned.
believe, I know everything from the OTC pinksheet to the Giant shark MM
which I don't know directly but undiectly.

其实Ambitrage的回报一点也不低。Chicago上百家的HFT，几家做长线的。我做过的几
家全是arb。一个不到 20人的公司，一年>20M的profit。risk capital不到10M。

给你一个 Tip。
要把 Arb 和 HFT 的对手搞跨并不难。
如果
0。你的资金比对手雄厚，或至少够玩。
1。你的预测比对手看的远，看得更准。
2。你制造假象，让对手大规模的入套。
其实金融的最大风险是技术，
也就是说，一旦技术被对手大大超越，就玩完。
由于墙街是零合游戏，没有你和对手双赢的事情。

Even reading T&S is kind of TA.
He mentioned prop trading firms. Providing 12+ months proven records of 100k
+ profit,he can trade the firm's capital with no commission charged and has
free access to most of the firm's resources.

老实说，你一做IT 的，还真没有多少Business Sense。
你牛，你先说服你公司管资金的老板，让他信任你，给你Fund。或者你自己的家人/
朋友。在中国怎么了？现在资金移动很方便的。他们都不敢/不愿把资金给你操作，
你能说服素不相识的人吗？
别拿什么Tracking Record 来唬人，那不是你的Tracking Record，是你工作的公司
别人的。你要那么牛，又跳了几家公司，不可能没有一个老板赏识你，在
Compensation 上Match 你的Contribution的。
真的像你说的那种牛人，每年的Compensation 都是至少百万级别的。

Stat Arb做得人已经很多了。最早的MS，以及THORP，SHAW那些人。后来基本都做死掉
了。06年开始有翻起来一波。这两年听说SHAW也亏死了。好奇问问，一般几个人的公司
，牛在什么地方，比DE SHAW还强，随便就能挣钱？
不会是骗子公司吧!

You be amazed how similar the algos for HFT are.
Given that, the early bird had the advantage,
but as more people get into it, the profit will
be thinner and eventually reach 0 or negative。
This was what I forsaw when HFT first became
news, and this is exactly what's happening now.
