今天在staples店里看到toshiba L755-S5244的clearance,用上100刀coupon后，价钱是
275+tax
Intel® Pentium® Processor B940, 4GB ram, 640gb hdd, 15.6' inch,

为什么net income是正的，而retained earning却是负的？意味着什么？

可能前一年的retained earning是负的吧。加上今年的income，如果还没抹平的话，
就还是负的

楼上说的是其中一种可能性，是对的。还有一种可能性，本财年有大的capital
expenditure，对fixed capital投入高的企业尤其如此，比如采矿，采油。

retained earning = net income - dividend
公司一般会努力维持一个固定的dividend，所以retained earning会变成负的，在年景
不好的时候。应该意味不了太多东西。

capex通常是fixed assets depreciation period不会只有一年，net income里面已经
包括depreciation. negative retained earning和capex没关系.通常是dividend发太
多or mark to market unrealized loss

基本同意。不过unrealized loss 如果已经反映在了net earning里就不是net income
positive, retained earning negative的情况了。
对于不计入net income 的unrealized loss, 不大记得具体是什么类型的投资了，好像
是进accumulated comprehensive income/loss, 不影响retained earnings.
哪个大牛能确认一下？
