both international grad students, double E major, Ying Wu and Ming Qu
car worth about 60,000 dollars(but I don't think so, looks like it
is a used BMW 3 series (E46, 1998-2006), just purchased, not brand new).
According to USC students the neighborhood is very dangerous!

LOS ANGELES - A man and a woman were shot and killed late last night
while
sitting in a car in the area near USC.
FOX 11 Reporter Lauren Sivan is on the scene with the details in this
Video
Report.
LAPD Officers were sent to the 2700 block of Raymond Avenue near West
27th
Street shortly after 1 a.m. and found the victims suffering from
multiple
gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Carlton Brown of the Los Angeles Police
Department
's Southwest Station.
The woman was slumped on the front passenger seat of a late model BMW,
which
was in the road, away from the curb, with blown out windows on the
driver's
and passenger's side. The man was lying on the steps of a nearby house,
suggesting he managed to get out of the car before collapsing.
Just one man was reported to have been seen leaving the area. Paramedics
arrived and took them to a hospital, where they were soon pronounced
dead.
No details about the victims were immediately released, but reports from
the
crime scene said they were believed to be USC students in their 20s who
became victims of a bungled carjacking. Commander Andrew Smith, an LAPD
spokesman, said this was one of several possible scenarios being
examined,
but he added without elaboration that LAPD investigators are working
closely
with
USC campus police.
It was unclear if the car, which looked new and had paper plates, was
moving
when the shooting occurred. "We're trying to figure out if it was car-
to-
car or if someone walked up on them,'' Brown said. Detectives fanned out
in
several directions from the crime scene in search for clues into what
happened, added Smith.
