AIG is halted as the Treasury announces an offering of $4.5B worth of its
stock in the insurer. AIG indicates it intends to purchase up to $3B worth
of the offered shares.

More on AIG: At the current price ($31.16), the Treasury would be unloading
about 144M shares, roughly about 14% of the 61% stake it holds in the
company. With a book value of more than $60/share, AIG's repurchase of a $3B
of the stake in the $30 area would seem a pretty good deal for its owners (
though they may not get them that cheap, shares remain halted).

这个消息其实是非常好的消息。
上次的offer是31.50. 政府的实际成本是29.2.
这次的offer是25，政府的lose，AIG的gain，还有GS等一块占了便宜。
这事要是发生在中国，就是贱卖国有资产。
O8真是败家子啊。

我估计是周一涨，MM还在压盘。
上次政府卖30.50的时候，aig股价是跌的，因为政府的成本是28.72，aig买回来就吃亏
了。
这次政府只卖25，股价应该要涨，占了很大的便宜啊。

(29.2-25)X(4.5B/25)=0.756b
AIG买了3B，占2/3

GS，c,jpm把认购数从1.5b提高到了2b。
便宜要多占。

common stock, comprising US$3bn worth of stock that will be repurchased by
the company and US$1.5bn stock that will be sold to investors.
However, sources indicated the US$1.5bn component of the share sale had
already been upsized to US$2bn. Including a planned "greenshoe" or
overallotment option (15% of the total US$5bn), the total amount raised by
Treasury could stretch to US$5.75bn.
