Speaking on CNBC's Fast Money, Josh Brown said that Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:
YHOO) is now a number one target for activist shareholders and hedge funds
in the United States.
He added that there is absolutely no doubt in his mind that they are going
to allow Yahoo's management to use a half of $12 billion to do a buyback and
than to experiment with the other half without getting involved.
Brown believes that somebody is going to get involved until the end of the
year and judging by the price action on Friday, he wouldn't be surprised if
someone has already started to accumulate. This name has been an activist
target before -- Dan Loeb made a fortune at much lower levels. Brown hasn't
decided to make a trade based on this idea, but he might do that.
Pete Najarian added that he is wondering if Yahoo is going to become a
takeover target. He is buying call spreads in this name.
Yahoo fell 2.74 percent and closed at $40.93 Friday.
