Per this artical, -48 means the decrease of rig count slows down compared to
last week. But really I don't think this number is beyond the expectation
anyway so I guess it's neutral and has little impact to today's oil price.

I totally agree this data might have some impact. But 52.1 to 51.2 doesn't
necessarily mean it's caused by this news. In the past few days the oil
price fluctuated minutes by minutes without any "publicly known"reason. So
how
could you tell this 52.1 to 51.2 is caused by the rig count or it's simply
a normal daily fluctuation?
