Highly unlikely... Apple car is the worst kept secret in silicon valley or
on wall street anyway. Besides, Apple does not respond to rumors and it
never reveals its future products that are still in the development stage.
The chance of apple revealing anything related to Apple car during a
earnings conference is zero.
Iphone was the "bet the company" project in which Apple spent all its money
and resources it had at the time. Had the iphone flopped, Apple would have
been dead. Nowadays, with 165 billions net cash, apple can take on any risky
projects you can imagine. Even if those risky projects fail in the end,
they won't pose any risk to the financial stability of the company.
Apple's R&D spending is public information... it has accelerated in recent
years. Unlike some other companies that like to taunt silly gimmicks as
innovations just to prop up their image of being innovative, Apple prefer to
keep things secret and only to announce them when they are ready for the
market.
