Billionaire hedge-fund investor George Soros on Thursday said he shorted the
S&P 500 index and also went long U.S. government bonds. In an interview
with Bloomberg Television in Davos, Switzerland, Soros said it remained too
early to buy stocks and that he would be surprised if the Federal Reserve
raised interest rates again. Soros also said a hard landing for China's
economy "is practically unavoidable" but that the country has the resources
to manage it.
