我想在我的博士论文的引文部分插路一句中文彦语如‘他山之石， 可以功玉’该用什么
package呢？ 或者还要加什么插件？我用的是miktex.

Does CJK package come with font libs?
I checked the folder, no big files.

The only way I ever got CJK to work (on Linux with
teTeX) is to run it off the TeXLive CDs from TUG; I
think it uses TrueType fonts, but only in the Ming/Fang-Song
style (no Kai, Li, Hei). When I tried to install it on my own,
I could not get it to work.
If anyone has notes on getting CJK to work, please kindly
share it. I'm sure it is of interest to everyone here.

the whole post that helped me with CJK is (for command-line fans only :)

basically, you need
1. CJK package installed
2. TrueType fonts installed
3. Follow CJK examples
I did the first two with debian's dselect, --really effort free
but did not try it under MS windows

现在APS可以用中文名字了，在英文作品中插入中文会越来越有用了。这个讨论不知
道有没有结果。
我现在装的是Miktex和Latex2e
后来去下了一个CTex-CS（号称是和Miktex用户的）但装了以后没有用。还是出错。
APS网站上推荐TexLive的package，或者中科院也有一个CTex中文的安装包。但不想
改用习惯的MikTex和TexnicCenter。大家有没有成功的？

报告一下，先装Miktex，然后装CTex-CS，成功显示汉字
刚开始主要是不知道字体的名字是什么，比如说宋体，有些地方用BTsong，有些地
方用gbsn。后来看了一个CJK包带的一个tex例子，用了正确的字体名字就能用了。
正准备投一个稿子，这下子能用上了，搞不好有希望成为第一个用中文名字的，呵

其实装ctex-cs是完全不必要的
它只是给你安装额外的字体以及相应地修改字体配置文件
只要装了cjk包就行了
用\begin{CJK*}{GBK}{song}就能显示GBK编码的宋体字
记着你的tex源文件要用GBK编码
你装了额外的字体，除非嵌入到pdf里面，以及出版社只要你生成的pdf，
那些字体才有效。如果出版社要的是你的源文件，用它的系统生成pdf，
那么它要什么字体它的系统会有，不用你担心

因为我并没有单独装过CJK。
另外，能不能解释一下什么
“记着你的tex源文件要用GBK编码”我用的是免费的TexnicCenter编辑器，那里可
以设encoding吗？
你装了额外的字体，除非嵌入到pdf里面，以及出版社只要你生成的pdf，

i guess when you save a document, there's an option for you to choose
encoding.
This depends on editors, and i know nothing about texniccenter

strongly suggest to use utf8 whenever possible.

i will, when unicode takes over the world
now gbk is good enough
nowadays not all fonts support utf8 (but the mostly used ones do)
there's a popular program, gbkfonts, to convert existing fonts to tex fonts
in gbk encoding. while i don't know any programs for converting to utf8
encoding. people are adapting newer version of tex, everything in utf8, but
it is not yet popularly used.
