I've been adding more and more to my master's thesis project because I
really want to get it published, and I already missed the submission
deadline for this semester. Not really a bad thing I guess, considering
I haven't even begun studying for job interviews.
My advisor said I can defend in the beginning of next semester as long
as I have everything ready and can gather around the committee members,
which is going to be late January.
That gives me 2-3 months to finish writing and I'm hoping I will be
able to start looking for jobs by the end of January.
The schedule is going to be tight, but I would like to know how much
time you think I should set aside just for studying?
This will include reviewing the standard textbook stuff, practicing
programming (time consuming) and learning some new stuff on the
programming side of things like OS and architecture related
specifically to real-time and embedded systems.
I'm EE, mostly CE/telecomm background, but will consider both HW and SW
opportunities. So does end of January sound like a reasonable
interview-ready date to you guys?
