when I do an nm on the .so libraries in /usr/lib, it gives me an

but if no symbol in library, how can ld use them? so strange,

do a "file" on it and see what it reports.
Seems it's a stripped version.

strip shi qudshishi sh
strips down the -g debugging info only, not the symbol table
