check firewall?

1. ping your hostname from other place
2. if #1 is ok, check if there is any firewall settings.
if #1 fails, ping your IP from other place; if success, check your DNS
setting; if it fails again, your network connectivity has problem.

I knew nothing about firewall,so how to check that?

Are your computer and others on the same subnet?
Can other boxes reach your computer by ftp or telnet/ssh?
Check your Linux, see if there is any default ipchains (ipchains -L), which
may block the http...

same subnet.
other pc can not telnet or ftp.
what is ipchains?i hve no idea.

use service manager. take ipchain and iptable out. they are in run lever 3,4,5
