Command line extend beyond a sing line# Unix - 噫吁兮,危乎高哉

When using up-arrow to recall a command that extends beyond a single line, it
will appear in one line with overlap. It's very hard to modify. Does any one
know how to fix this problem?

set default as vi mode, and then you can jump around in the line easily..

Could you please tell me how to do it?
set mode = vi ?
I'm using tcsh.
