在 craigslist看到，
Sun Blade 1500 workstation
Specifications:
* 1.5GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processor
* 512MB system memory
*Three USB 2.0 ports, four USB 1.1/1.0 ports, two 1394a (Firewire) ports
*(no hard drive)
*Sun XVR-600 Graphics Accelerator
*It has has few scratches on the right side
想问几个问题
sun的内存贵不贵？
普通的pc ata硬盘可否加到这个机子里？
solaris 10/9/8可否安装到此机子？
另个，这个机器的合理价格应该多少？
不好意思，菜鸟，所以问题比较newbie

强烈建议你不要买。
如果你是想学 Unix / Linux，你完全可以用 VMWare （VMWare player 是
free 的，你只要能找到 OS image 就行）练习。不玩了以后卸载就好了。
现在这个办法很流行。
如果你是玩一会儿，再换装成其它 OS，买个 toaster pc / netbook / nettop
等更好。各种接口多。可以当 media center 等。更有用，而且价钱便宜。

我需要 sparc cpu去运行业界内的程序(solaris 9 and 10)，除了sun blade 1500/
2500外，还有没有其他的选项？

不清楚 QEMU 是否能让你在 Windows 上执行 Sparc Solaris 9 。你可以试一下，
如果 performance 不是太重要。

thanks. 花了 200$在local买了个Sun Sunfire V480, 2X1.2Ghz Sparc III cu, 8G
ram, 2*73G HardDrive.
买来就后悔了,哈,因为太重了, 噪音也挺大, 没有经验啊,不应该买Server,应该买个
workstation,或者扁扁的那种,估计那种噪音会比较小.
顺便问个问题,
正在装oracle 10, HardDrive2 is mounted to /export/home0,
能不能把/export/home0/apps mount(or mapping?) to /apps? tried, got this
error: /export/home0/apps not a block device

看了下 ebay，你这价钱上非常值。我家里的 i7 机器 12G ram 就 $280...
搞完计算后，说不定可以考虑在上面装 VirtualBox / Xen 然后当 pc 用。。。
可以用 symbolic link 。比如
cd /
ln -s /export/home0/apps apps

solaris use c0t0d0s0.
看看solaris红宝书。多混CU...
Solaris可是正儿八经的UNIX。docs.sun.com是不错的地方
btw, Solaris 10 应该可以装在这个机器上。内存不便宜。
普通盘不能用。如果s10装不上就装s9吧

嗯,已经又买了两个73GB的盘.
原先的机子上自带solaris 10.
准备用新买的两个73GB的盘装Solaris 9.
这样,需要用切换操作系统的时候,就换一下硬盘. 可行么? 我这可是 windows下的思路.
