我可以用研究费买。
但感觉不值，添个几百美元，可以买非常不错的mini laptop了。 如Vaio，Panasonic
等。

Why not just pay it by yourself, it is just couple hundreds bucks and you
know you are not going to use it solely for research purpose. It is not good
to abuse the research fund.

Please try using a iPad for a couple of months before making any over-
simplified claim. The iPad can be a serious tool for presentations,
department meetings and conference travel.
