我的情况比较特殊，是H1b转J1，刚刚拿到receipt。请问版上最近有这么转的么？拿到
receipt后大概多久可以收到

I am so dumb.
So I got the 1099R for my over contribution of 2009 401K. I would have just
filed 2009 taxes with it, right?
Why was I so dumb?
Now I waited this long finally realize that I don't need to catch the 2010
tax date to amend 2009.
Oh.. anyone can confirm my thoughts? Thank you so much.
the question is basically, I can amend 2009 tax anytime, right? not
necessarily before april 18th?

谢谢，目前已经过了一周了，还摸有收到，不知道还需要等多久。

Here is what I think:
1) request to withdraw the excessed contribution of your 401(K), (otherwise
there will be penelty? not sure about this part)
2) file 1040X for 2009, since the withdraw changes your W2 income
3) file 1040X for 2010, this is optional depends on whether you itemized
your state tax on 1040 of 2009. If so, it changes the itemization which
leads to changes in state refund for 2009, which leads to changes in your
1040 for 2010.
Anyway, if the excessed contribution is not much, as least 1) and 2) is
required.

1040x什么时候寄都可以，应该没问题，
关于401k over contribution产生的capital gain/loss我还真不知道怎么处理，可能
是取出来算作regular的gain/loss吧，不过如果数额不大的话差不多就好了....
