那是中文字典比较片面的翻译，多愁善感是sentimental feeling中的一种。
就平常应用来说，我觉得sentimental就是感性的意思
你看韦伯字典上的几个例子
a sentimental favorite，a sentimental attachment
说多愁善感显然说不过去。sentimental也可以是loving, tender的感觉。
