Read this carefully, you will need it:
Lightning can give you the fear of death. A thunderstorm can also feel like
the marrow of life.
In the high Sierra Nevada, lightning ignites the dark sky like a strobe.
Above tree line, lightning can strike a mountain crag, a lone tree, a metal
rod, or very rarely, a hiker.
At 53,540 degrees, it’s five times hotter than the surface temperature of
the sun. It sears the air and burns ozone, a smell you never forget, which
somewhat resembles the smell of light rain on hot asphalt.
Then you count the seconds. “One, two, three . . .” Ka-boom! The thunder
that follows can sound like the sky is breaking apart, or as the saying goes
, “The gods are bowling.” The cracking is so loud that you might look on
the ground to see any broken pieces of clouds have fallen out of the sky.
The warm rain that follows can be like a deluge of Noah proportions. Then,
just as fast as it started, it ends.
In summer, short, violent thunderstorms are a signature of the high country
across California, and can rarely strike anywhere. Yet once you learn about
thunderstorms, how to deal with them when out hiking and camping, they can
become the pinnacle event of a trip.
Last Sunday, in a fantastic anomaly, lightning struck 13 people and killed a
20-year-old man at Catalina Island offshore Southern California. According
to National Weather Service, lightning has caused 16 fatalities this year
across America, six in Florida.
In the past two weeks, automated lightning detectors have counted more than
3,000 lightning strikes in Yosemite National Park with 21 fire starts, said
Gary Wuchner, a fire specialist at the park. He said the rain that came with
the thunderstorms kept the fires very small. “They are small, creeping and
smoldering surface fires or single logs less than one-tenth of an acre and
are showing minimal activity,” he said.
In a single day last week in California, there were 9,000 lightning strikes.
This week has had thousands more. Conditions have meshed from the ocean to
the Sierra crest to create conditions for the atmospheric phenomenon.
In the central Sierra Nevada, the area that gets the highest number of
summer thunderstorms with lightning, thunder and downpours is eastern Kings
Canyon National Park. The hot zone is from Glen Pass north into the Woods
Creek Canyon and up to Pinchot Pass.
Other likely areas are above the rim of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome and
Clouds Rest in Yosemite National Park, and the rim surrounding the Lake
Tahoe basin, especially Mount Tallac and Desolation Wilderness.
In the north state, the south flank of Lassen Peak, the north flank of Mount
Shasta, and the Russian Peak area of the Russian Wilderness can set up
perfectly for spectacular thunderstorms in summer.
Given a little outdoors know-how, you can treat thunderstorms as nature’s
4th of July show, rather than fear them.
Most thunderstorms occur in the afternoon after several hours of vertical
build-up of giant cumulonimbus clouds, that is, the big, puffy clouds that
Ansel Adams often captured in photographs. That gives you plenty of time to
plan your day and advance to a safe location. If a thunderstorm is imminent,
descend into a thick forest, and if above tree line, into a deep canyon.
When a thunderstorm arrives, a key is counting out the time from flash to
bang. Every five seconds from lightning to thunder is equal to 1 mile away
in distance. That lets you know how far away the lightning is. After
repeating the process over several minutes, you will know if the storm is
getting closer or moving away.
If it’s getting closer, asses how close and the safety of your location.
Stay away from a lone tree, which can act as a lightning rod. If you have
metal hiking poles, or anything else metal, stash them for later retrieval.
These events are spectacular and explosive, and long after you have
forgotten how you spent your days in a year, you will remember the moments
you spent amid a peak thunderstorm.
I enjoy the event so much that it’s to the point now that I try to time my
trips so I don’t miss out.
The most intense rain I’ve ever seen was in a thunderstorm at Yellowstone
Lake, where there was a microburst, a rare vertical wind with mind-blowing
rain so thick that I couldn’t see a friend in a kayak 40 feet away. It put
five inches of water in my canoe in 10 minutes.
The most spectacular lightning, thunder and downpours I’ve seen in
California have been at Mather Pass, Glen Pass and Marjorie Lake on the JMT,
Mount Tallac on the Tahoe rim, Lassen Peak, the Bucks Lake Wilderness, and
above Statue Lake in the Russian Wilderness.
The trigger points are often fog on the coast, hot temperatures in the
Central Valley, and often a low pressure system in the Pacific. From the
coast, the high layer of moist, cool air is sent east toward the hot, dry
air in the valley. When that stream of air hits the mountains, it rises
straight up and mixes with moist air. That lifting force creates towering
cumulus clouds.
That’s why you can have a clear, cool dawn, then a few puffy cumulus at
noon, followed by towering cumulonimbus in later afternoon, and then a dark
sky and full-on thunderstorm by early evening. Then at dusk, when cool
temperatures diffuse the lifting force, the skies often clear.
Two of the most vulnerable places, far above tree line at 11,955-foot Muir
Pass and 14,505-foot Mount Whitney, rock huts are available where hikers can
hide and wait out a storm.
If you get caught atop Half Dome, 13,153-foot Forester Pass, or anywhere
directly under the event, a thunderstorm can be dangerous.
With a few outdoor skills, you can instead be out in the high country,
hiking and camping, and look forward to the event, and then enjoy one of
nature’s greatest power shows.

基督教的“神”耶和华/耶稣，虽然我不相信你们的存在，但是，根据“圣经”描写的
情节，我极其厌恶你们。所以，如果你们真的存在的话，请尊重我的“自由意志”。我
的“自由意志”明确拒绝任何来源于你们的东西，包括我的生命。如果我的生命真的来
源于你们，请你们务必在十分钟之内用雷电把我劈死，否则，你们就是贱货！谢谢。阿

第一次认识老七是在八年前的文学城信仰家园，在美，乡下人，sevant等等，好不热闹
! 后来搞得文学城被迫关闭了那个板块，没想到老七还没有放弃。
老七，奉劝你一句，不值得，传教的人把青春搭进去是因为他们信，你把青春耗进去反
教是因为你不
信。那些信的人不是因为那个东西是对的才信，而是他们就喜欢信一个东西，他们有那
个需求。别劝了。
另外信的人也别恨老七，他是撒旦派来考验你们的，是检验你们的试金石，是俾子还是
麦子就看你能否战胜老七了。

我和基督徒们辩论，主要是辩论给那些徘徊在信和不信边缘的人们看的。不少徘徊在信
和不信边缘的人们看了我和基们的辩论后认清了基督教的邪恶本质。有些人还给我发来
了感谢信。可见我的时间和精力并没有浪费。救人一命，胜造七级浮屠啊！

很多人即使现在没有信基督教的需求。
但是：人体在虚弱的时候容易受到病菌的侵袭。同样，人在受到挫折心情处于低谷的时
候也容易受到基督教这样的邪教的侵袭。
掌握一点基督教的常识，可以增强对基督教这个邪教的免疫力。
我现在发的帖子，很多人只是随意看看没有感觉，但实际上他们对基督教这个邪教的免
疫力无形中已经得到了提高！

从这个角度来说，宗教是有它的积极的意义的，人在面对很多困难的时候，由于人本身
的力量是很弱的，所以相信那里有一个神在帮助自己，是一个好的事情。
只是我还是相信我自己。

鸦片可以止痛，但并不意味着鸦片是好东西。一个人疼痛的时候，除非万不得已，不应
该用鸦片止痛。
同样的道理，除非万不得已，不要用基督教来自欺欺人。

你又来闹腾了。早就和你说过了，你在这里疯狂反对基督教也没有用，同性恋婚姻不是
社会共识。
