please help. installed XP Pro x64 on C2D, but still see 3.5 GB memory.
Physical is 4 GB installed. anybody shares insight. thx amillion.

4G里面被PCI总线空间,显卡显存等占用了一部分,比如你显卡是512M,很可能得到的内存
大小就是3.5G

Thx. Another machine I'm using in office (HP xw9400 WS, 2 Opteron Dual Core,
64-bit WinXP ) can address all 10 GB RAM I installed. That is why I got
puzzled.

对于 32bit system, VISTA family physical memory limit 除了starter version 是
1G,其他版本都是 4G; XP family 除了 starter version 是 512m,其他版本 4G. 而
由于PCI 内存地址空间是从4G向下增长,所以注定32位系统有那么多内存也用不到.
64位系统除了Windows Vista Home Basic 8G,最少的也能支持16G.

AMD的机器一些可以看到4GB或者以上空间，intel core2duo的还是不行，只能xeon了好
像。跟主板芯片组有关系。

我的T60p c2d还是只能看见3G。
