can't you just creating slides in two files with different masters and
then combine them afterwards?

I had the same idea, but when I did that, it automatically used only one master
so all of them turned to be the same.
I just found out that actually only powerpoint after 2002 support multiple
slide masters. Too bad, I don't have them..

oic, but I am using PP XP, so...
I guess you may want to try copy then "paste special", I don't have PP 2000
handy, so it is only my guess :) good luck
