Ok, I try to make my point clear to see whether you agree.
Do you think it is possible for microsoft to take care every single
application made on top of it be compatible during their upgrade process? I
believe the ansewer is no. Also along these years as happened to be a windows
programmer, I found out microsoft tighten the security much much more
aggresively than it used to be, especially in xp through service patches. We
as programmers used to take it for granted as for convinience, but now w

if an application works in Win 98 but not XP, it is OK,
cause it is a major upgrade.
If an application works in XP, but not in XP+sp, then
I think XP is to blame, not the application. Either
XP is a piece of shit, or the sp is a piece of shit.

But there isn't any application that won't work under Linux after applying the
service patch. Unless your application is a trojan taking advantage of some
known vulnerability...
