Sure there are several folders admin doesn't have access to by default
(however admin can always make them do.)
If a file is being used by the os, you can't delete it. (Sometimes you
cannot even read it if it is locked by the OS).
What are the files you try to eliminate?

The fix for Windows XP not letting you delete .avi
I've seen this coming up more and more all over the place so I figured I'd
stick it here.
Avi files (divx) can be trouble in xp. there is a fix to let xp behave much
better so it's possible to move or delete large avi files. The obnoxious bug
in XP that causes Explorer to read the entire contents of broken AVI files
before allowing any
access to them is caused by bad behavior of shmedia.dll.
To correct this misbehavior in Windows XP, remove the

MDF i don't konwn. empty folder possibly there is a hidden file in it.
if it is the reminance of uninstalling some programs, you can reboot
you machine and delete it. if still can not del it. probably you did
not uninstall it properly. you may need to reinstall it and then uninstal
it again.
