if fat32, boot using win98 disk
if ntfs partition, use ntfspro.
data loss does not always happen, but should it happen, it is a big headache.

把硬盘挂到别的机器上，然后把文件备份下来。

FAT32 is not recognized by NT4. But there was a patch for that.
