More than half of information technology (IT) professionals had an average pay
raise of 6 percent in the past year, according to Computerworld's 16th annual
salary survey. That compares to an average pay raise of 4 percent by workers
in general, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
As for those fabled IT industry bonuses, seven out of 10 didn't see any in the
past year, the Computerworld survey says.
