台北故宫2年摔碎3件文物,两岸网友都怒了
After confirming that three items in its archive had been damaged, the Taipei Palace Museum has released more details about the incidents, including photos of the broken porcelain pieces.
三件文物是怎么坏的?
In a statement, the museum wrote that on Feb 3, 2021 and April 7, 2022, while staff members were organizing artifacts, they discovered upon opening packages that a Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) "yellow teacup with two green dragons" and a Qing Dynasty (1636–1911) "yellow teacup with dragon pattern" were damaged. Additionally, on May 19, 2022, due to staff mishandling, a Qing Dynasty "blue-and-white floral plate" fell and broke.
People on both sides of the Straits have not only greatly deplored the damage of the cultural relics, but also have doubts over the attitude, ability and motivation of the incumbent management of the Taipei Palace Museum regarding the protection of nearly 700,000 cultural relics housed there.
Many people are wondering if the public hadn't exposed the incident, would it have been covered up by the Taipei Palace Museum forever? In places in the museum where the public has not paid attention to, are there more valuable artifacts that have been damaged but covered up?
The museum's curator Wu Mi-cha said the three broken artifacts had never been put on display and were not insured. He also claimed that only the three artifacts were damaged.
It's known to all that the collections in the Taipei Palace Museum are extraordinary. They are cultural treasures belonging to the entire Chinese nation as well as testimony and inheritance of China's long history and splendid culture.
They are of more special and richer historical, cultural and ethnic value as they went through China's war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the Chinese civil war and have become the cultural link and historical bonds that cannot be cut off between the Taiwan island and the Chinese mainland.
然而,如今的台北故宫博物院管理层在淡化、回避这些方面花费的心思,要大于他们在文物保护和管理方面投入的精力。
However, the current management staff of the Taipei Palace Museum have spent more efforts in downplaying and avoiding these aspects than they have invested in the protection and management of the precious cultural relics.
